I can rememeber when American Bandstand was on EVERY afternoon after school.  (Mostly baby-sitters turning it on!)  I always prefered the recorded versions, rather than the artist singing it live.

I remember one year working on the Viacom Building, 40th Floor in Times Square.  I had a zoom camera that picked Dick's stage out of the crowd.  On this freezing-cold night, I thought I had the better vantage point!

Dick Clark was a true professional, both talented and savvy.
