As a friend and as a nighttime radio show host of love songs and stories, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard the story about how love showed up when it was least expected. Boy, if I had a dollar for every time I heard that one… The thing is, this story never gets old to me because it’s exciting to see how a love story develops for someone who didn’t think it was possible. Anything is possible…
I met my sweetheart on a dating website. We discovered we were both on Facebook and friended each other there too. However, other than a one liner here and there, I never really heard from him. I found out later he was very shy. Months later I had posted that I was looking for a tennis partner, not competitive, but for fun. He responded that if I was asking for a bowling partner or played golf he was interested. That led to an invite to a late lunch
that day. I must tell you that I had decided a month earlier to go “under the radar.” I was tired of meeting new people and being disappointed. I tried to find any reason or excuse NOT to go that day. I called my girlfriend complaining I didn’t want to say yes however she said, “It’s only lunch, then you don’t have to see him again.” So I went. The man I met that day was amazing. I was at peace, enjoyed the conversation, something just clicked. Lunch led to dinner that night. I met the most amazing man who I had only dreamed about. I can’t wait for Valentine’s Day to show my love and appreciation that he stepped out of his comfort zone to meet me. God does put the right person in your path when you least expect it, Denice.
