CHRIS BROWN, FRANK OCEAN: Brawl in Studio Parking Lot

Posted: Sunday 09:39PM Jan. 27, 2013 PST

First it was Rhianna, then Drake. Now Chris Brown is beefing with R&B critics' darling Frank Ocean.

According to TMZ, the two mixed it up Sunday night in the parking lot of Westlake Studio in Los Angeles. Chris was there to listen to one of the artists he reps and was about to leave when he ran into Frank Ocean and his posse in the parking lot. They blocked his exit with Frank reportedly taunting Chris by saying, "This is my studio, this is my parking spot."

Chris apparently tried to make peace by shaking Frank's hand, but then one member of Frank's crew jumped on him. Members of each of the stars' crews went at each other and then Frank went after Chris and the two fought. It was serious enough that police had to be called.

KIM KARDASHIAN: $0 = $10 Million?

Posted: Friday 10:42AM Jan. 25, 2013 PST

Kim Kardashian has offered Kris Humphries either $10 million or not a red cent to settle their divorce, depending on which report you're reading.

  • According to TMZ, Kris asked for $7 million, but Kim rejected that offer. And now the site says that she's looking for him to pay her attorney's fees. The reasoning -- Kris has dragged this thing out so long that her lawyer bills have gotten out of hand.
  • But Radar Online reports that Kim offered Kris $10 million, which he rejected. The idea here is that Kris is looking for an annulment, not just a divorce, so he can get married in a church again.

The only thing we know for sure is that the two sides haven't found a way to settle and are still technically married.

MILEY CYRUS: Ditches Bra for Cosmo Cover

Posted: Sunday 03:15PM Jan. 27, 2013 PST
Miley Cosmo Cover

At 20, Miley Cyrus is still trying to shed her squeaky-clean Disney persona. Her latest attempt? Posing without a bra on the cover of Cosmopolitan

In the magazine, Miley talks about her hubby-to-be Liam Hemsworth and her first post-Hannah Montana album. She says, "I've never gotten to make a record like this because Disney's always been on my back saying, 'You've got to promote the TV show in two months, so make sure your record's done...and when you promote your record, can you promote the show, the movie and the Hannah Montana record?' I think the best thing I could have done was take those two years off to really live, because now people don't think of me as who I was on the TV show."

Miley might look smoking hot on her Cosmo cover, but at home Liam's the eye candy. She says, "I'll literally look at him and be like 'You are hot, dear god!' The other day, I turned on the pool heater and it was steaming, and he walked outside and took off his clothes and jumped in the pool. I was like, 'I'm gonna faint -- the hottest guy of my life is in a steaming pool. This looks like a Playgirl shoot.'"

Her fourth studio album is set to be released later this year.

AMERICAN IDOL: Not Racist Say Former Contestants

Posted: Sunday 05:09PM Jan. 27, 2013 PST

Four American Idol finalists are coming to the show's defense after nine black ex-contestants claimed Idol is racist.

Nine black ex-contestants are said to be planning to sue producers, claiming they were publicly disqualified because they're African-American. Idol officially booted the contestants because of possible criminal backgrounds.

But season 6 finalist Melinda Doolittle, who is black, tells TMZ, "In my experience on the show, the Idol team strives to champion everyone, regardless of race. However, each contestant is explicitly told that the withholding of information that may compromise the show or artist, can and will result in immediate disqualification."

Season 4 finalist Vonzell Solomon, who is also black, adds, "I didn’t experience any [racial discrimination]... All of our contracts were clear about how the background checks worked and that we could be disqualified if we lied about our past."

Season 10 finalist Casey Abrams says, "I don't know why they are biting the hand that fed them. Those guys beat thousands of people who wanted to be on TV. Idol is picky, but I'm not sure about racist."

Season 5 winner Taylor Hicks adds, "American Idol is for everyone. All walks of life go through the show. Not once did I see the show discriminate towards anyone. It’s all about the votes."

In 11 seasons, Idol has had three black winners -- Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino and Jordin Sparks.

RANDY QUAID: Canada Doesn't Want Him

Posted: Sunday 05:05PM Jan. 27, 2013 PST

Randy Quaid's request for permanent resident status in Canada has been denied.

The troubled actor and his wife headed north of the border to elude vandalism charges in Santa Barbara, California. Last year U.S. officials  refused to seek extradition, but if the two ever return to the States they risk arrest. Randy, who has had several run-ins with the law over the past few years, wants to stay in Canada, claiming he was being hunted by "Hollywood star-whackers" who had killed his pals David Carradine and Heath Ledger.

Randy can appeal the decision to the federal court.

AMERICAN IDOL: Accused of Racism

Posted: Friday 05:38AM Jan. 25, 2013 PST

We all know that the producers of American Idol will try anything to grab ratings, but this latest allegation is a doozy. Nine former contestants are accusing the show of racism, saying they were forced off because producers thought too many contestants of color would turn off viewers.

New York attorney James H. Freeman has asked the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for permission to sue Idol and FOX on behalf of his clients -- which include Corey Clark, the season-two contestant who allegedly had an affair with Paula Abdul. Freeman notes that all nine of the hopefuls who've been disqualified publicly have been black -- and he smells a rat.

Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe tells TMZ, "We treat everybody the same...no matter the race, religion or sex. I think we've always had a fantastic share of talent from contestants both black and white... I don't think I've ever seen racism at the show."
