In Seattle, a woman managed to beat her boyfriend unconscious – with her newborn baby strapped to her chest.

Making matters even worse is the fact that she did this in the middle of the street, for all those walking by to see.

Sharee Seminole, who weighs in at a hefty 270 pounds, got into an argument with her boyfriend, who is also the child’s father.

According to witnesses, the argument became physical, with Sharee stomping on the boyfriend’s face at least eight times, kicking him repeatedly in order to knock him out and breaking his nose.

When the police intervened, she became unruly and refused to cooperate despite her child still strapped to her chest.

Sharee was eventually arrested and charged with second-degree assault. The child has been placed in protective custody. (Seattle Post-Intelligencer)

GUN APPRECIATION DAY: At Least Five Wounded in Three Incidents

Posted: Sunday 04:48PM Jan. 20, 2013 PST

Gun Appreciation Day backfired at gun shows in North Carolina, Indiana and Ohio where five people were injured on Saturday. The accidents occurred on the same day that gun advocates protested at state capitals around the country against gun-control legislation.

In Raleigh at the Dixie Gun and Knife Show, a 12-guage shotgun went off as its owner unzipped its case so it could be checked by security. Three people were injured, with two taken to the hospital for shotgun pellet wounds.

Over in Indianapolis, at 54-year-old man was hurt when he accidentally shot himself in the hand while leaving the Indy 1500 Gun and Knife show, police said. Loaded personal weapons are supposedly not allowed inside the show, but police said no charges will be filled against Emory L. Cozee, who was hospitalized.

In Medina, Ohio, a gun dealer accidentally shot and injured his friend while he was checking out a semi-automatic handgun he bought on Saturday. Although the gun's magazine had been removed, the owner didn't realize there was a bullet in the chamber.

WEIRD NEWS: Bubble Headed Justice

Posted: Sunday 04:51PM Jan. 20, 2013 PST

A Pennsylvania kindergarten student was thrown out of school last week for threatening to shoot her mom – with a gun that shoots soap bubbles.

School officials labeled the girl a "terrorist threat" for making the comment while talking about the hot pink plastic weapon with a classmate as they waited for a bus to take them home. She didn't actually have the gun with her, but officials still laid down the law and suspended her for 10 days.

Her family, which has retained a lawyer, says the girl has never actually held a real gun. (Seattle Post Intelligencer)

SAME SEX STAR WARS

For a genre that’s so focused on fantasy and creativity, video games can be pretty conservative.

Almost every one of them involves a man and his trusty sidekick trying to save a damsel in distress.

But no more!

Now, the executive producer of Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic, is pleased to announce that there is now a same-gender romance option for some of the video game characters.

Finally, Han and Luke can save each other instead of some silly damsel! (The Daily What)

PUPPY LOVE

Whoever says Facebook can’t make your dreams come true, never met a kid who really wanted a dog.

Five Canadian siblings were mourning the loss of their dog and begged, their parents for a new puppy.

Not wanting to give in so easily, the parents said they’d get the kids a new puppy if they – in particular the two sisters who were pushing the hardest for a new pup – could get 1 million people to “like” their status on Facebook.

The girls not only got their million, but they got in 7 HOURS!

The parents let the public know by posting a message on Twitter about how they were going to have “five ecstatic kids in the morning.”

LASHING OUT

If fake eyelashes are outside your comfort zone, you’re definitely not ready for the next big thing in eye fashion.

The latest trend is called eyelash jewelry and consists of small bands of jewels, feathers and plastic charms glued above the top eyelash.

These little eye baubles were created by a 21-year=old girl in Vermont who started out selling them on the DIY site, Etsy.

Now she’s sold over 600 pairs to ravers, burlesque dancers and eclectic artists alike!

Just don’t ask about blinking, because we’re not totally sure how that works. (The Daily Beast)

BEYONCE: "Best Thing I Never Had" Wedding Dress, Yours for $30,000

Posted: Friday 09:04AM Jan. 18, 2013 PST

The gold and white Baracci wedding dress Beyonce wore in her video for "Best Thing I Never Had" is for sale -- for $30,000 -- at PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com.

According to the site, Beyonce "reportedly stumbled on the dress while walking by the designer's Beverly Hills boutique, and asked to wear it in her video." The size-four dress with gold French lace and glittering Swarovski crystals originally carried a price tag of $85,000.

Potential buyers are allowed to view the gown and alterations are available "upon request."

The Angles:

  • Designer of the dress is trying to take advantage of product placement. Some rich, crazy, fashionista or a fan will buy it.
  • $30,000 is a lot of money for a regular, non-famous person to spend on a dress. Right? Nobody is buying that dress.
  • Beyonce is a size four? I would think that bootylicious booty is a six or an eight, at least.

JOHN MAYER: Singing Raises Cash

Posted: Friday 09:35AM Jan. 18, 2013 PST

John Mayer did his first singing in public in almost two years this past Tuesday.

Mayer did vocals on four songs during a benefit at the Emerson Theater in Bozeman, Montana. The concert raised $100,000 to help firefighters who battled the Pine Creek Fire in summer 2012. Mayer announced at the concert that there's no sign of the granuloma that was removed last year, but that the Botox injections used to keep his vocal cords from pressing together while they heal will limit his ability to hit high notes for a while.

She made trips to three more doctors who checked her out and put her on more antibiotics. Eventually, she visited one more doctor who actually looked down her throat and noticed the false teeth wedged in there. Finally, the last doctor pulled the teeth out, but only after they had been in her throat for nine weeks. (Daily Mail)
