CHARLIE SHEEN: To Become a Grandpa
Here's a scary thought -- Charlie Sheen is going to be a grandpa!
The Anger Management star made the announcement on Letterman Monday night that his 28-year-old daughter, Cassandra Estevez, is pregnant. Charlie admitted that while "it's fabulous," being a grandpa is also "not a title I'm ready to adopt."
When Dave asked whether Charlie would be a "good grandfather," the 47-year-old actor said, "Yeah, because you can leave the kid!"
Cassandra is Charlie's daughter with his high school girlfriend Paula Speert.

Lohan Thwarts Plea Deal Because it Requires Rehab Stint
Lindsay Lohan cannot get out of her own way. TMZ is reporting that she bungled a plea deal when she fired her attorney Shawn Holley. That happened just as she was on her way to meet with the prosecutor and judge to work out a deal that would guarantee Lindsay would avoid jail. TMZ believes her attorney will be present at the early-morning hearing today, but only because she's worked on this case for so long. Lindsay still owes her about $300,000 in unpaid bills.
Lindsay is pleading for Holley to return to the case, but she doesn't like the agreement which would have her serving 6 months in a "lockdown rehab." Lindsay didn't like the sound of that, and who could blame her? Whatever lockdown rehab is, it sounds like a jail sentence with registered drug addicts. We all know that Lindsay still fancies herself a movie star. She can't be locked down for 6-months. She would miss the world premiere of her next failed movie: The Canyons.
The Angles:
- Time for this circus to stop and the judge to throw Lindsay into jail.
- Rehab for 6-months is probably too short a stint for all of Lindsay's troubles
- Considering Lindsay can't afford to pay her attorney, how could she possibly pay for a full 6 months in a rehab facility?
- Lockdown rehab is just another name for being "committed" without the option of leaving early
TONY DANZA: Flying the Barfy Skies
Tony Danza just learned a lesson we all should take to heart -- don't get on an airplane if you're sick.
Tony was flying from L.A. to New York over the weekend and started vomiting into the barf bag. Several of his fellow first class passengers scurried away -- with the flu bug that's going around, who can blame them? -- but supermodel Kate Upton stayed put.
A friend of Danza's tells the New York Post that he had a 24-hour-bug but is "doing much better."
A-ROD: Takes Miami Mansion off the Market
It's another setback for Alex Rodriguez.
The player with baseball's richest contract, facing hip surgery tomorrow, has pulled his Miami mansion off the market. The New York Post says the Yankees third baseman paid $27 million to buy the land and then build what it describes as "the ultimate bachelor pad...with nine bedrooms and a state-of-the-art gym with a batting cage."
A-Rod was asking $38-million before pulling the "for sale" signs off the lawn.

BRITNEY: Dad Did the Dumping
We all know that Britney Spears's dad Jamie is involved in pretty much every aspect of her life -- but according to Perez Hilton, he even arranged her split with fiance Jason Trawick.
The gossip hound says that in her "fragile state," Britney was in no shape to deal with the details of breaking off the engagement. So Jamie and Jason sat down to iron things out. A source says, "They decided how the relationship needed to end and how to go about the technicalities, such as removing Jason from the conservatorship, when he would move out and how to announce the split."
The source adds that Britney isn't really clear that the relationship is over, although she understands that the engagement is off and that Jason has been removed from the conservatorship.
All of this has to be taken with a huge grain of salt. Given that Britney just changed agents, is in the midst of a deal for a Vegas residency and is working on a new album, it's hard to believe that she's so out of it.

JESSICA SIMPSON: To Star in Autobiographical Sitcom for NBC
Jessica Simpson is returning to TV -- and this time she wants you to laugh at her.
The star has confirmed that she's set to star in a sitcom for NBC based on her life. She tells The Hollywood Reporter, "I am so excited to work with...NBC again, this time on a scripted comedy. I often find myself thinking that no one could ever make up the things that actually happen in my life -- so between the real-life elements and a great team of writers, I think we'll have people laughing!"
Jessica has a long track record on the small screen. She starred with her ex-husband, Nick Lachey, on the MTV reality series Newlyweds from 2003 to 2005, did the short-lived VH1 docuseries The Price of Beauty, and most recently mentored contestants on the NBC fashion competition show Fashion Star. Her acting credits include big-screen comedies like Employee of the Month and The Dukes of Hazzard.
She also filmed a pilot for a series called Jessica back in 2004, but the show never made it to the air.
Her dad, Joe Simpson, will serve as a producer on the upcoming sitcom.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Reveals She Has Fertility Issues
Kim Kardashian says it wasn't easy making a baby with Kanye West.
The reality star revealed on the Today show Tuesday that she has fertility issues like her younger sister Khloe. Kim said, "Khloe has been very open about her fertility issues and I think I was always really kind of quiet about mine. I have similar issues, and so it was a pleasant surprise when so many doctors were telling me one thing and then the opposite happens."
And not surprisingly, Kim says the new season of Kim and Kourtney Take Miami, which debuts Sunday, will delve further into her fertility problems.
She also talked a bit about Kris Humphries' supposed refusal to sign divorce papers. "I can't speak for anyone else. It's a process.... It's happening, hopefully."
And on marrying Kanye, she said, "It's something that we talk about. I think it's just right now (we're) focusing on the baby."
The baby is due in July.

Carl Reiner and Alec Baldwin will present the Screen Actors Guild's Life Achievement Award to Dick Van Dyke later this month. Van Dyke will be honored as part of the 19th Screen Actors Guild Awards, which will air live January 27th on both TNT and TBS.
LANCE ARMSTRONG: More Confessing If He Wants to Compete Again
Lance Armstrong has come clean to Oprah, but if he wants to compete again, he'll have to do more talking.
World Anti-Doping Agency Director General David Howman said in a statement, "Only when Mr. Armstrong makes a full confession under oath -- and tells the anti-doping authorities all he knows about doping activities -- can any legal and proper process for him to seek any reopening or reconsideration of his lifetime ban commence."

The song was recorded and produced by former Talking Heads members Chris Franz and Tina Weymouth at their home studio in Connecticut.
WEIRD NEWS: Hair of the Dog Saves Dog
A puppy who was poisoned by antifreeze and had just hours to live was dramatically saved ... by vodka.
Cleo, an American Staffordshire, licked antifreeze off some car parts in a garage in Australia and almost instantly showed signs of distress. The dog's owner rushed it to the vet who said Cleo was dying of kidney failure.
Knowing that alcohol can stop a chemical reaction in the liver, the doctor instructed a nurse to get a bottle of vodka she had in her car (which raises the question of why she had a bottle of vodka in her car). They hooked up the bottle to a drip that fed the vodka through the dog's nose and into its stomach. More than a third of the bottle later, Cleo was all better and is currently in good health. WEIRD NEWS: 18 Heads Discovered at Airport on Way to Cremation
You may remember the 1997 movie titled 8 Heads in a Duffle Bag. Add 10 and you’ve got the situation custom officials at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport were faced with on Monday.
It turns out that there was no foul play involved -- the heads were utilized for research in Italy and they were being returned to Illinois for cremation. However, there was some confusion with the accompanying paperwork.
As bizarre as it may seem, shipping body parts around the world is fairly commonplace. Paul Dudek, director of the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois, explains, “Just last week, we transported eight heads, unembalmed, to Rush University Medical Center for an ophthalmology program.”

HORSEMEAT: Found in Burgers in the U.K.
This time it’s not mad cow disease, but horsemeat in hamburgers that has the U.K. in a tizzy. An Irish food safety watchdog found traces of horse and pig DNA in burgers sold by some of the country’s biggest markets, including Tesco. In fact, a burger from that retailer reportedly contained about 30-percent horse.
Ireland’s Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney pointed the finger at one meat processor for the horsemeat problem, which he said was “totally unacceptable.” The horsemeat was found in an additive that was mistakenly added to the burgers.
Tesco, which runs the troubled U.S. chain Fresh & Easy, issued an apology calling “the presence of illegal meat in our products extremely serious.”

GUN CONTROL: Cuomo Says Law is "Common Sense" ()
New York made history on Tuesday by becoming the first state to enact new gun control laws following December's Newtown, Connecticut school shootings. The new law, which is being called the nation's toughest, focuses on keeping fire arms out of the hands of the mentally ill.
After passing the state Senate 43-18 on Monday, the bill was passed by the state Assembly 104-43, and Governor Andrew Cuomo quickly signed it into law Tuesday. Minutes before signing, Cuomo said, "This unfortunately required tragedies and loss of life to actually spur the political process into action."

FACEBOOK: Gets into the Search Biz
Facebook is trying to make it easier for you to sift through all the information about your friends and their "likes." The social network is rolling out a new featured called Graph Search that lets you search for exactly what you're looking for.
For example, the tool can help you find single girls in Chicago to date, a friend of a friend who knows of a job or friends who live in a five-mile radius who are fans of The Walking Dead.
However, some critics are already still crying foul about privacy issues. Still, Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerburg is enthusiastic about the new tool, calling it "one of the coolest things we've done in a while" and adding, "Graph Search is a completely new way for people to get information on Facebook."

HEALTH: Docs Say It's Impossible to Get the Flu From the Vaccine
Contrary to popular belief, doctors say it's impossible to contract the flu from the flu vaccine. With the flu sweeping the nation, there's a big misconception among Americans that getting vaccinated can give you the virus, causing people to avoid the shot.
According to USA Today, 35 percent of CVS consumers think that myth is true. While some get sick after being vaccinated, it's not from the vaccine, which uses dead viruses. Although the vaccine can't get you sick, it is still possible to get the flu post-shot. This year's vaccine protects three strains, and is a 90 percent match for the viruses going around this season.
If you're unlucky and get exposed to a different strain, the shot can't protect you. The CDC says this year's vaccine is about 62 percent effective, which is on point with effectiveness for most years.
