2. "We took a concerted effort to go out and find women who had backgrounds that could be qualified to become members of our cabinet [in Massachusetts]. ADELE: Baby Fine Over Fine Baby
Adele's baby boy is fine, but he may bring her a fine -- which she'll have to pay for failing to register his birth with British authorities.
By law, all births have to be publicly registered within 40 days, a deadline that passed earlier this month. London's Sun reports that she may face a fine of about $1600 as a result, but points out that Adele probably doesn't need to worry too much about repercussions.
A source says, "Cops are hardly going to be banging on their door tomorrow and it’s probably just an oversight on their part. Most parents register their baby within a couple of weeks because it’s a nice thing to do -- and because there’s a fine if they don’t. There’s loads of reasons why parents are late, and millions of couples don’t bother for ages.”
Laws are similar in the U.S., although the deadlines vary by state.
NO DOUBT: Gwen's Guys Get in the Fashion Game
Gwen Stefani conquered the fashion world years ago, and now her bandmates in No Doubt are following in her footsteps.
The boys in the band have inked a deal with Britain's Fred Perry design house for a line of unisex clothing that's slated to hit stores next spring. The designs are said to draw from the punk subculture, but the prices are anything but underground -- expect to pay from $175 to $250 for shirts, sweaters and jackets.

KATE MIDDLETON: Aussie DJs Fired Over Suicide Prank
The Australian radio show that may have caused the suicide of a British nurse who passed on a prank call to Kate Middleton has been pulled off the air.
2Day FM's Kyle and Jackie O show was cancelled effective immediately, with station management taking the extra step of banning prank calls from its airwaves and "undertaking a rigorous internal investigation" into the events that led to the suicide of Jacinta Saldanha.
TMZ notes that the show and station have a long history of pranks gone wrong, including one that involved a 911 call leading to a police investigation. Although the station has been repeatedly sanctioned by Australia's version of the FCC, management still signed off on the Kate prank -- which is likely to lead to another investigation.
WEIRD NEWS: Homer Alone
A Florida woman may want to stop watching those Simpsons reruns – after being busted for leaving her kids unattended while she went on a run for doughnuts and beer.
Jessica Sanland was arrested after cops responded to a call that her seven-year-old was wandering unattended and crying around her apartment complex swimming pool after midnight. The deputies also discovered a four-year-old alone in Sanland's apartment.
Police dialed the woman's cell phone and she returned home, smelling of alcohol and explaining the reason for her trip. The officers reported that two prescription pill containers, a bottle of cold medicine, a half empty beer can and a samurai sword were left within the children’s reach.
Sounds like she'll need to get some D'oh! for bail. (Gainesville Sun)
WEIRD NEWS: Not a Sentence to Sniff At
A Florida man is set to serve eight years in jail after he was convicted of putting his nose where it didn't belong – an urn of human ashes that he stole from a home he'd broken into.
Jose Diaz-Marrero and two accomplices ransacked the home, stealing thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and electronics, but the victim was most upset at the disappearance of two urns containing the ashes of her late Great Danes and one containing the remains of her father. After cops tracked him down, Diaz-Marrero told them he thought the urns contained crushed pills and decided to taste and snort the contents.
The human remains were found, discarded, by the side of a lake, and returned to the man's daughter. (Ocala Star)

The holiday season is in full swing. Just ask FedEx. The shipping company had their busiest day in history on Monday.
Manager Alex Johnson explained, "With the Internet now, that volume is just flying off the hook."
On Monday afternoon, FexEx said it had shipped an estimated 19 million packages, which marks a 10 percent increase over their busiest day last year.
