WEIRD NEWS: Chillin’ in Court
A Louisiana prosecutor is facing a drug charge after he allegedly dropped a joint in the courtroom.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, City Attorney Jason Cantrell, 43, was talking to a police officer inside Orleans Parish magistrate court when a joint fell out of his pocket and onto the floor in front of the officer.
Cantrell was issued a summons for simple possession of marijuana and released. He has been suspended without pay. (CBS)
WEIRD NEWS: He Wants Clean Teeth
A Florida inmate is suing the Palm Beach County sheriff in federal court … because he can’t get dental floss in jail.
Joel Flores, 22, who is in jail on a robbery charge, claims in his suit that the lack of dental floss is causing him ''oral abscesses, pain, discomfort, tooth decay (loss), and could contribute to endocarditis."
“Palm Beach County Jail Administration does not provide dental floss to inmates through property or the commissary, making it completely impossible to obtain and use as directed by the American Dental Association," Flores said in his handwritten complaint. (UPI)

What's the best part of eating chicken nuggets? How about the fight that breaks out when you're eating them?
19-year-old John Valentin of Melbourne, Florida, lost his mind when his young nephew cooked too many chicken nuggets. The boy told police that Valentin became angry over the number of nuggets that he cooked and took his anger out on his sister, the boy's mother.
Cops say he hit the woman and knocked her to the ground before fleeing the home. He was arrested a short time later. (FloridaToday)
WEIRD NEWS: Taking Candy, or iPhones, From a Baby
Apple has yet to create an app that can detect low-life filth when it's approaching. It's unfortunate, because if there were such a thing, a baby would still be watching Barney on her mother's iPhone.
British police say the mom gave her iPhone to her daughter to watch Barney while she shopped. That's when cops say an old man walked up to the child and swiped the phone right out of her tiny hand. A security camera caught the theft and cops are now trying to find the despicable creep. (Daily Mail)
CHRIS BROWN: His Ex Tweets 'WTF is Going On?'
Yesterday, Chris Brown made it official. He said he’d broken up with his girlfriend Karrueche [kaw-ROO-chay] Tran to focus on his career (and have the freedom to hook up with his former girlfriend Rihanna). Friends say Karrueche had confided to them that she was head-over-heels for Brown and that they were great together. That is, until Rihanna was back in the picture. This past week, she and Brown went on several dates and made it painfully obvious that the romance had rekindled.
Then late last night, Karrueche broke her silence by making the following Tweet: “All I’m saying is: You don’t mess with people’s genuine feelings. You just don’t! Life moves on. So let’s all.”
However, her first Tweet in this thread was something we're all asking: "WTF is going on?"

AMERICAN IDOL: The War Continues
It doesn't look like Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey are going to kiss and make up anytime soon.
Mariah apparently put in a call to her old friend Barbara Walters, who recounted the conversation this morning (Thursday) on The View. Barbara read from her notes, "She said that when Nicki walked off the set, multiple people heard her say, 'If I had a gun I would shoot the bitch.'" Mariah told Walters that she doesn't believe Nicki would actually go to such extreme measures but has beefed up her security just in case.
There was talk of a reconciliation earlier today when Nicki and Mariah managed to attend meetings for Idol without incident. But shortly after that, the Barb Tweeted, "I guess it hurts to have the producers tell you to your face that Nicki is the best judge we've had since Simon. Awww, poor you. Keep them lies comin'." She also accused Mariah of hiding behind powerful friends, writing, "I don't call TMZ and Barbara Walters because I stand on my own two feet. Never needed an army."
The Hollywood Reporter says the whole feud may just be a ratings ploy. The site quotes an unnamed insider saying, "The Mariah-Nicki diva battle is exactly what FOX executives wanted all along. No one's really worried. They know the parts they’re supposed to play.”

FACEBOOK: One Billion Users
Mark Zuckerberg announced this morning that Facebook now has one billion active users.
That means one in every seven people on the planet is Facebooking. More than 166 million Americans sign onto the site at least once a month, as do 20 residents of the Vatican. Most of the growth in the past year has been in Asia and South America.
Although it took the social network six years to reach 500 million users, it has doubled that number in just two more years.

LEVAR BURTON: Outraged Over Romney's Threat to Cut PBS Funding ()
Big Bird isn't talking about Mitt Romney's threat to cut PBS funding, but former Reading Rainbow host LeVar Burton is -- and he's pissed.
LeVar tells TMZ, "I am personally outraged that any serious contender for the White House would target as part of his campaign the children of America in this fashion. Educators across the country, as well as millions of children and adults, know that the programming on PBS has been responsible for significant improvements in education, literacy, math, science and life skills for generations of our children."
Mitt made the promise at Wednesday night's presidential debate, saying PBS isn't an essential government expense.
Levar adds, "De-funding PBS directly punishes the less fortunate by removing this trusted and extraordinary educational resource available to all. On behalf of America's children, I can't stay silent. I encourage you to join me in fighting this short-sighted and frankly mean-spirited attack on our children."

AIRPLANE ETIQUETTE: What Not to Do on Your Next Flight
Flying is an overall unpleasant experience. The seats are too small, the food is gross and there is always the chance of getting sick, but worst of all is a rude and inconsiderate seat mate. Next time you fly the "friendly" skies, remember to mind your manners, and avoid these annoying behaviors. If you are a good example, others will not only appreciate it, but learn a thing or two!
- Do not adjust, itch or touch yourself: If things are squished and need adjusting, or your rear is itchy, take it to the bathroom! No one wants to see this ... EVER!
- Don't talk too much ... especially on an early morning flight: Pleasantries are acceptable, but if you are on a 6 a.m. flight, chances are your seat mate does not want to chat until coffee has been served and the plane has been in the air for at least an hour!
- Don't bring stinky or loud snacks from home: Yhe plane is not the place to eat an egg salad sandwich or crunchy chips – it's just rude.
- Don't let your kids run wild: Not everyone thinks your babies are perfect angels. Bring activities to keep them engaged so they don't annoy other passengers.
- Don't take off your shoes: You are not in your living room – wear comfortable shoes and leave them on! (Frisky)
LARK VOORHIES: Saved by the Bell Star Suffering From Mental Illness
Saved by the Bell star Lark Voorhies has been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder, her mother tells People magazine.
The 38-year-old actress recently made headlines when she appeared in a video interview acting a bit off, mumbling to herself or gazing off in the distance. Her mother blames the odd behavior on her daughter's mental illness, saying, "There are things that have traumatized her. I care deeply about my daughter and I want her to resume her life."
Her co-star Dustin Diamond, who played Screech, recalls meeting Lark in 2003 to record commentary for a Saved by the Bell box set. He says, "I was always used to playing off of her and looking into her eyes. When I saw her at the commentary, it wasn't the Lark I knew."
ROBIN ROBERTS: Feeling "Much Better"
Robin Roberts' recovery from bone marrow transplant surgery is going well.
The Good Morning America co-host posted a health update on her blog today (Thursday). She writes, "I have been in the hospital 25 days now. My bone marrow transplant took place exactly two weeks ago. The only numbers that matter are my blood counts and they are...GREAT! My sister Sally-Ann's stem cells apparently feel right at home in my body -- an answer to so many prayers."
Robin adds that she feels "much better now" and that her doctors and nurses are "very pleased with my progress."

ONE DIRECTION: Leona Lewis Denies Relationship With Liam
Leona Lewis has denied recent tabloid rumors that she and One Direction's Liam Payne are dating. Although the two have been out with each other a couple of times over the past few days, Lewis tells The Metro that she is still "single." Both Lewis, 27, and Payne, 19, have recently ended relationships. Payne broke up with his girlfriend of two years, dancer Danielle Peazer, a couple of weeks ago, while Lewis shed German beau Dennis Jauch, also a dancer, last month.
The get-togethers may truly be platonic. Asked a while back about the possibility of a relationship with Payne, after he'd come to her for some career advice, Lewis replied, "He’s sweet, but they [One Direction] are, like, two."
BRISTOL PALIN: Target of Suspicious Package
Bristol Palin was the target of that suspicious package that was sent to the CBS lot Wednesday.
TMZ says the package contained a white-powdery substance and a note that read something like, "This is what will happen to you if Bristol Palin stays on [Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars]." The powder was later determined to be harmless, but investigators are still looking into the matter.
Bristol was also the target of a threatening letter when she appeared on Dancing With the Stars in 2010.
(Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC but is shot on the CBS lot.)

At this point, 35 people from six states -- Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, Florida, North Carolina and Indiana -- have gotten fungal meningitis and all had received steroid shots for back pain, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The FDA is advising doctors not to use any products from the Massachusetts pharmacy that supplied the steroid solution that is apparently contaminated with fungus.

DARYL HANNAH: Arrested in Texas
Daryl Hannah has a new picture: Her mug shot from the Wood County (Texas) Sheriff's Office. Yesterday, the actress was arrested during a protest against the Keystone XL Pipeline. She reportedly sneaked onto the construction site and stood in front of an excavating machine. Hannah was charged with both trespassing and resisting arrest.
This is not Hannah’s first arrest for her passion of saving the environment. Last year, she was outside the White House demonstrating her support for the groups that want to ban the Keystone XL Pipeline. The pipeline, which has become a political hot potato, would transport (on a daily basis) over half a million barrels of crude oil from Canada to Gulf of Mexico port towns.
