The U.S. Is Facing A Veterinary Shortage

A new study says there's a shortage of veterinarians in the U.S. and the problem could get worse. Researchers at Mars Veterinary Health have found 47 states are currently facing some sort of veterinarian shortage, and one factor may be the high cost of veterinarian school. It costs up to $160-thousand to go through school to be a vet. The study says by the year 2030, there could be 15-thousand fewer vets than needed in the U.S. for pet care. Hardest hit are shelters which can’t afford to pay big bucks for veterinary services.
